To provide better services to its clients, Exeter Studios, LLC is currently working on its United States Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) certification by the end of the 1st quarter of this year.
“The certification will give a third-party stamp of approval based on how we develop our practices in terms of how it delivers our software,” shared Exeter Studios, LLC CEO Jonathan McAllister.
According to McAllister, HIPAA outlines a set of requirements for the creation, storage, and maintenance of a patient’s medical data, with a focus on ensuring that this data, called the Protected Health Information (PHI) will be kept private, with access only given to pertinent parties, such as attending healthcare providers, the patient’s Health Management Organization (HMO), and the patient, among others.
“This is to ensure that data breaches, where people’s very sensitive medical information are not leaked or mishandled,” he explained.
Among the various types of services in software engineering, web design, and more; Exeter Studios, LLC also provides software solutions for the medical field, such as patient databases for hospitals and clinics.
“This will open doors in regards to doctors’ offices trusting the software that we create, and the branding that we create as well,” remarked McAllister.
With a HIPAA certification, Exeter Studios will be one of only a few software development companies with compliance to the stringent rules that the United States government demands for its healthcare professionals and providers.
“We want to be the provider of quality healthcare software, McAllister explained, “not just the run-of-the-mill stuff you can get anywhere else.”
